You can now watch ill peach’s “COMATOSE” the official video for the grit-pop duo’s contribution to the Hardly Art Singles Series, out today on all DSPs. The visual was shot on location at various locales throughout East Los Angeles, and directed by Lucy Sandler.
ill peach offer this on the song, ”COMATOSE imitates the sound inside of our head. Like a Being John Malkovich moment. It's the beautiful chaos that was living inside of our mind during 2020. It’s colorful and frantic but emotional and personal. We tried to capture that feeling you get when you're dropping on the craziest rollercoaster at Six Flags. It's aggressive and out of your control but so real and amazing and completely exotic. Wanting to feel good. Feel your best. That’s the mission.”
ill peach has scheduled a performance with Spill Tab at Los Angeles’s Natural History Museum “First Fridays” (presented by KCRW) series on March 4th.
Both Jess and Pat worked a stint at SkinWalker Ranch and shortly thereafter their otherworldly vision for music and art formed ill peach. They’re enamored in future tech melding with art, yet they also place moments of nostalgia and snippets of everyday life in their tracks. They’re grounded in what life is like right now and the rawness that reality creates. Heard by the scattering of their own personal iPhone voice memos collected over time. They are the voice of the freak community.
What people have said about ill peach:
“Vocalist Jess Corazza’s delicate high end reflects their affinity for atmospheric dream pop melodies, but the undercurrent of chaos beneath it adds a layer of tension that feels cinematic. The resulting jam is a terrific slice of alt-pop with a melody that will creep into your head over and over.” [“DANDELION”] - Consequence
“...songs that draw on stately R&B, effervescent pop, and absorbing yet lo-fi production.” [Excuse Me While We Find Our Minds] - CLASH
“…together the artists shape-shift their love for idiosyncratic pop music through tranquil new single “DANDELION”. Transferring their complicated tale of love through an electro-funk charged sound and nostalgic sphere.” - The Line of Best Fit
a cacophony of experimental sounds met with ethereal vocals and lyrics [“Wildfire”] - Wonderland
“ill peach shattering the glossy facade of American quaintness with pummelling synths and hypnotic, Suicide-style drum machine. A rethinking of a classically patriotic symbol, it’s also a perfectly bombastic opening to sound the alarm (“American Pie”/sound the alarm] .” - The FADER
